Week 8 post #3

I think that this election will forever be the most controversial election in history. A lot of people only have negative things to say about every candidate, but the sad thing is most of these people really don't know anything about politics. Social media misleads many people in the wrong way about each candidate, and it is a very sad and unpromising thing to see about the people that live in this country. I see so many posts daily about fake or misleading posts about these individuals and I feel bad for them because it takes a lot to run for this country and people now days just believe that you need money to run, but that is pretty false. Most of the candidates are much more smarter than a good portion of this country and they truly want the best for this country but people are so negative and have such bad views and interpretations about these candidates. How is it even possible to hate someone so much that you don't even personally know. I really wish that people would actually pay attention to what they have to say and listen to politics instead of being so critical about every single thing these candidates have to say.

Week 8 post #2

I personally believe that cops should be paid more because of the danger and all of the situations that they have to experience daily. I have never understood why cops are not paid more because they have one of the most stressful jobs in America today and if they do not receive higher wages no one is going to want to be a police officer anymore, and having a lack of police officers would be a very awful thing in this country. I don't think that they should be millionaires or anything like that I just believe that the compensation that they receive should make their contributions and what they risk everyday worth the pay. I know that many people would disagree, but those people don't see what this job does to individuals and their families it is a very tough thing for many people and I feel very bad for our police officers today.

Week #8 post 1

Before I even came to college I always had dreams of becoming a police officer and I wanted to try and make the world a better and more safe place. My mind has recently changed due to all of the police violence and hatred towards police officers. It is such a shame that many people have such negative views on people that truly want to ensure safety and happiness in their lives, but now people believe that all cops are completely filled with evil and that they only bring negative effects to every thing now days. It is a very sad thing to think about and I really hope that this stigma on the police force is erased soon because many officers are getting shot and killed and they nor do their families deserve that at all.
